6-16-2001L William IV pedestal base library table. The 48" diameter circular top is fitted with tooled green leather within a cross-banded and bullnosed mahogany molding. The top is supported by a conforming apron with eight drawers alternating been functional and faux. Each drawer face is mounted with a pair of drop-ring cast brass drawer pulls flanking a brass rim key escutcheon. The revolving top is supported by a turned pedestal on a tripod of three reeded sabre legs with waterleaf carved knees. The legs terminate in finely articulated cast brass feet on brass casters. Mahogany and figured mahogany veneers. 30.25" high. England, circa 1820. |
