10-4-2004M American Sheraton curly maple arm chair with caned seat. New York, circa 1815-20.
4-4-2004 Upholstered mahogany campaign arm chair with retractable foot rest, removable "wings" and adjustable chair back executed in the Neo Classic taste. The legs terminate in cast brass castors. The frame has been covered in dove gray leather with brass dome headed tacks following evidence of the original upholstery scheme. England, circa 1835.
7-24-2004A Assembled set of six New York Classical mahogany Klismos side chairs with blue moiré upholstered slip seats. The panel-veneered crest rail is contained between the upper back posts above a richly carved double cornucopia back rail. New York, circa 1815.
9-24-2004A American bow back Windsor armchair with traces of its old green painted surface. Pine, ash and hickory. New England, circa 1780.
9-10-2004 Set of six painted Baltimore side chairs with caned seats. The back splats are decorated with naively stenciled bronze powder figures in an imaginary landscape. Maryland, circa 1830. The chairs are fitted with cushions with tassel tiebacks.
9-11-2004 Pair American cane seated maple side chair with bootjack back splat and pseudo-Klismos legs, joined with box stretchers. Pennsylvania, circa 1830.
10-14-2004 American Sheraton painted plank seat armchair with mahogany armrests. New England, circa 1820.
5-8-2001A Set of six American mahogany side chairs with upholstered slip seats. The Neo Classic inspired saber legs and crest rail mortised between scrolled terminals of the upper leg posts. A centered plume carved device joins the two slim back rails. The chair rests on four saber legs of the Klismos form. The seat frame is pierced for caning and a peg for an upholstered slip seat. The seat is covered in yellow moiré. Boston, circa 1825.
