5-8-2001A Set of six American mahogany side chairs with upholstered slip seats. The Neo Classic inspired saber legs and crest rail mortised between scrolled terminals of the upper leg posts. A centered plume carved device joins the two slim back rails. The chair rests on four saber legs of the Klismos form. The seat frame is pierced for caning and a peg for an upholstered slip seat. The seat is covered in yellow moiré. Boston, circa 1825. |
