the Gothic taste. Mahogany and choice figured mahogany veneers
on Northern white pine. The projecting ogee cornice is mounted
above a crotch mahogany veneered entablature, over two glazed
doors featuring gothic arch mullions. The interior is fitted
with adjustable shelves. The bookcase is set back on a paneled
double door cabinet which repeats the gothic arch in the panel
frame. New York circa 1835.

American Hepplewhite bow front chest of four graduated drawers
constructed of mahoganized white birch, with top edge and base
inlaid with mahogany cross banding, interrupted by a distinctive
sap streak set between contrasting lines of light wood stringing. The case rests
on high French bracket feet joined by a deeply scalloped apron.
The cock beaded drawers are mounted with period brass oval back
plates and cast bail drawer pulls in their original borings.
Eastern white pine and ash secondary woods. The shellac finish
has been cleaned and polished. Overall dimensions: 42"W x 21-/2"D

Mahogany
breakfront bookcase with glazed doors over a base cabinet of
a divided long drawer over four cabinet doors. The glazing is
divided by carved parallel horizontal mullions and fine beaded
vertical mullions. The base doors are frame and panel with carving
applied to the panels. The breakfront is fitted with a cove cornice
and rests on a molding base. England, second quarter 1800s. Overall
width: 90", depth: 20".

four graduated and scratch-beaded drawers on French bracket feet.
A scalloped apron joins the feet. The drawers are mounted with
stamped brass drawer pulls in the original borings. The four
drawers are each fitted with cast brass rim key escutcheons.
Tulip poplar and Eastern white pine secondary woods. Connecticut
Valley, circa 1810. 21" x 44" x 39.5" high.
